Acne Facial Wash: What Acne Eliminating Ingredients Should You Look For?

What Are the Best Ingredients to Treat Acne?

If you suffer from acne, you might be overwhelmed by the abundance of facial products that are on the market. Reading labels can be confusing, especially considering the words are big and the font is small. When you shop for acne facial products, there are a few key ingredients that you should look for. If you want to know what they are and how to recognize them, read on…

Salicylic Acid

Another ingredient to look for in acne products is salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is effective in treating acne because it causes your skin cells to shed more readily which can prevent clogged pores, a known contributor to acne. If you use a facial wash containing salicylic acid, make sure it contains at least 2 percent.

Too Much of a Good Thing

When using products intended to treat acne, it is even more important to avoid over washing your face. You never want to use products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid more than twice a day. If you do, your skin will become irritated and will start to peel.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to use a facial wash product and a treatment cream every day. You can wash with a gentle cleanser in place of your acne products to give your skin a break from constant exposure to acne-fighting ingredients. As you know, over washing can irritate your skin, but over washing when you are using products that contain acne-fighting ingredients can be even more disastrous.
